Plastic Positive

A global effort to rid the world of plastic waste

In parallel to building Empower's traceability tools, we have dedicated money, time and effort to raise funds and redistribute them to smaller, often community-based waste collectors in our subscriber base.

We're utilising our software to provide sponsors with unrivalled documentation and body of evidence - while donated funds improve conditions and pay of informal waste pickers who are the MVPs in efforts around the world when it comes to removing plastics from the environment.

Our overarching (some say, ludicrous) goal is to help enable the clean-up of the abandoned 79% of 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic ever produced while positively impacting people's lives.

What is
Plastic Positive?

Plastic Positive is a global movement to tackle plastic waste at its source while empowering the communities most affected. The term "Plastic Positive" is a divisive one, we know. There's little postive about plastic pollution. However, in our experience enabling NGOs and entrepeneurs with tools and resources to start organising and tackling plastic pollution from the ground up has many positive effects, hence the name.

In other words, Plastic Positive is providing communities affected by pollution and under-developed waste-infrastructure with funds and tools to formalise and monetise waste management.

Our core focuses:

  • Removing plastic waste, including non-recyclables
  • Provide extentensive evidence collection
  • Enabling fair wages to cleanup workers
  • Funding impactful environmental projects
  • Verified certificate for sponsors
